Michigan State University seeks nominations and applications for the director of the newly-
formed Institute for Research on Mathematics and Science Education (IRMSE). The Institute will be jointly administered by the College of Education and the College of Natural Science.  Unit of tenure will be determined at time of appointment and based on candidate’s discipline. The Institute’s mission is to provide national and international leadership concerning the most pressing challenges in mathematics and science education at all levels in both formal and informal settings, and to lead Michigan State’s research efforts in STEM education. The Institute’s goal is to become a hub for research, policy, and leadership in mathematics and science education.  The IRMSE director will have university-wide responsibilities, including:

The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate in a relevant discipline or in mathematics/science education, a distinguished record of scholarship, an outstanding record of research funding in a relevant field, and a demonstrated ability to provide leadership that builds and sustains a robust research agenda involving interdisciplinary teams.  For more information, contact search committee co-chairs Prof. Yang Wang ([log in to unmask]; 517.884.1518) or Prof. Suzanne Wilson ([log in to unmask]; 517.353.9150).
