This weeks Science at the Edge speaker, Bruno Nachtergaele from UC Davis will give also give  a colloquium in the mathematics department on Thursday.   Here is the information about the two talks:

 

Thursday Jan. 27 at 4:10 pm (refreshments at 3:40), Wells Hall A304:  Propagation bounds for quantum dynamics and applications

 

Friday Jan. 28 at 11:30 am (refreshments at 11:15), BPS 1400: Gapped Phases of Quantum Spin Systems (towards a qualitative theory of gapped ground states)
