Agriculture’s Conference on the Environment

Where: The Lansing Center, Lansing, MI

Why: This conference will help farmers seeking to improve their farming operations while protecting the environment. You will have chance to learn about how measuring carbon on the farm can have a positive effect on both the environment and the bottom line.

This year’s keynote speakers are Dr. Bill Beranek, President, Indiana Environmental Institute and Charlie Arnot, Chief Executive Officer, the Center for Food Integrity.

Southern Clinton County Farm and Food Coalition Meeting


 

When: January 20, 2011, at 7:30 p.m. with time for socializing and networking beginning at 7 p.m.

 

Where: Bath Community Center, 5959 Park Lake Rd. Bath, MI

 

Why:  If you’re involved in the business of food, or like eating healthy, local food, the Southern Clinton County Farm and Food Coalition needs your help!

 

Bath Township has received a small grant from the Mid-Michigan District Health Department to explore the possibility of creating a food systems work group for the southern tier of Clinton County. In collaboration with Dewitt and Watertown Townships, the goal of the Southern Clinton County Farm and Food Coalition is to explore opportunities to support healthy food from the farm to your plate.

 

Everyone is invited who plays a role in food – from growers to restaurateurs to value-added manufacturers to those who love to eat – to help determine direction and focus for future efforts.
