Such transfer is likely to contribute to competition advantage for the suppliers, for example, IBM takes business leadership model based on dynamic capabilities as a new strategy and offering more integration and value services, the change of the operation mode from product to service helps IBM to acquire the advantage in the competitive market (Harreld *et al.* 2007). And the high qualified and individual demands of the customers indicate that the suppliers need to offer more and better services than before (Reinartz & Ulaga, 2008). Therefore, Service dominant supply chain is an integrated service-based supply chain different from either manufacturing sector or service sector. In service dominant supply chain, customer value and retention, product sales, and service contract revenue as well as higher margins can be achieved (Edvardsson, 2008), and the partnership between the service provider and customer is not a simple buyer-seller relationship, but a process of value co-creation with interaction and coordination with each other (Cova, 2008). Despite many successes, there are also many challenges and problems in service dominant supply chain management. The mission of the conference is to provide a platform for academic researchers, industry practitioners and government officials to share information and exchange ideas as to how to enhance strategic competitiveness of firms and efficiency of supply chain through value added services in supply chain collaborating process. More specifically, the objectives of the conference are to: n Invite academic researchers to share their research findings on how to gain competitive advantages through integration in service dominant supply chain management; n Invite government officials to describe the government initiatives to promote resource integration through collaborations among supply chain members and industries, and share the current achievements, problems and challenges; n Invite industrial practitioners to present their successful experiences and failures in service dominant supply chain management; n Get first-hand knowledge and insights on the current status of supply chain learning/collaborations and innovation among Chinese enterprises through visiting representative enterprises. n Provide a forum for academic researchers, industry practitioners and government officials to exchange ideas and discuss critical issues to be addressed; n Identify important research topics that will make significant contributions to the advancement of theories in operations and supply chain management and have a significant impact on industry practices; n Establish a network of researchers who are interested in service dominant supply chain management in China-based research and foster research service dominant supply chain management between researchers in China and researchers from other countries; n Share research findings, successful experiences and methodologies for conducting research in China. ** ** *II. * *Topical Areas* Papers, abstracts or special session proposals are invited in all areas of operations / supply chain management and decision sciences.
