Michigan Cider Makers Guild (MCMG) Educational Meeting


When: July 24, 2010, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Where: The Country Mill Farm, 4648 Otto Rd., Charlotte, MI

Why: The meeting features specials presenter Tom Burford of Lynchburg, Va. He is a nursery consultant, author and apple historian. Tom specializes in restoration, recreation and design of historic landscapes and orchards. His firm, Burford Brothers, has produced and nationally marketed hundreds of heirloom and modern varieties of fruit trees for 40 years. He will speaking about American apple cider varieties, as well as about grafting of apples trees, on which he is an expert.

How: Cost: $15 for MCMG members, $60 for non members. The workshop includes a box lunch and the opportunity to network with fellow cider makers. RSVP and payments are due by July 19, 2010.
