Mushroom Cultivation Workshop

KBS Grazing and Pasture Management Workshop
When: June 2, 2010, from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m.
Where: Kellogg Biological Station, Academic Building Auditorium,

Gull Lake Drive,
Hickory Corners, MI 49060
Why: This one day workshop will teach you the principles of grazing
and
pasture management, combining lecture and hands-on learning that is
appropriate
for the novice or experienced grazer. Includes a tour of the KBS robotic
milking dairy facility.
How: Cost: Pre-registeration $30 per person ($25 second participant
from

Kellogg Biological State Agricultural Research Field Day
When: September 8, 2010, from 8:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Where: KBS Farming System Center, 9702 N. 40th St. Hickory
Corners, MI
Why: In the morning choose between a field crop research tour (cover
crops,
perennial wheat, agriculture and water quality), or pasture dairy
research tour
(robotic milking, dairy cow behavior, and grazing ecology). Includes a
BBQ
lunch and research poster session (highlighting research from Michigan
farmers,
MSU Extension educators, and KBS graduate students and post-docs). In
the
afternoon learn about biofuels research (hybrid poplars for biofuel,
sustaining
the soil and water, and agronomic of bioenergy crop production).
How: Cost: $5, register onsite. Free admission to the Kellogg Bird
