Growing Mushrooms for Fun and Profit Article
Rebecca Hargrave wrote an article, Growing Mushrooms for Fun and Profit Article in the Small Farms Quarterly (April 5, 2010), a publication distributed by Cornell University, which focuses on agroforestry mushrooms grown in logs or woodchips in the understory of a forest. There are only a few commercial agroforestry mushrooms growers, so it may require more marketing, but the potential profits are worth it. If interested contact a mushroom supplier to discuss the best mushroom strain(s) for you, because it’s easiest to match the fungus strain with the trees you have. For more information about agroforestry mushrooms, including links, videos, workshops and detailed instructions, visit NY Forest Mushrooms Growers Network http://mushrooms.cals.cornell.edu.
