Could it be due to the MSU word mark and seal being one graphic?  If you select it (double click the footer and then click and drag the word mark) you'll see it occupies the entire upper left quadrant of the page.  I deleted the large graphic, saved the template, started a new letter, and then rendering speed was normal.

 

I'm hoping we can get a redesign so this won't be an issue.  It's too slow to use, and there's no point in every department having to do their own redesign.  It should be as easy as replacing the boilerplate text in the side bar with the department information.

 

 

I also experience the lag that you describe.

We've noticed that when typing on the new letterhead, there's a severe lag with the screen rendering of what is being typed.  We'd like to know if others are experiencing this also.  Thanks.
