Lee, et. all,

Please contact MSU Telecom Systems before installing any type of RF repeaters on campus. MSU Telecom Systems is working with, or in negotiations with the top cellular providers (Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, Nextel, Alltel, etc) to help enhance cellular coverage on campus. Many of the RF boosters / coverage enhancers are NOT supported by the cellular companies, and some of them are not FCC tested or approved. We ask that you work with us so we can get any installations approved by the cellular companies so they do not cause problems for you or others in your building.

Just an example, we recently found one such repeater on campus that was causing major cellular problems for everybody with a Verizon phone within a three building radius. Their equipment was malfunctioning and was causing random problems for all those trying to use their phones in the area. By working with the cellular companies we can minimize these issues.

You can call us at 3-5515 on campus.

Speaking of Bad Reception in Basements.....

Anybody out there have any experience with Mobile Phone Signal Booters /
Repeaters here at MSU?

I have a number of individuals with work and personal cell phones that work
in basement level offices and reception is dismal... Batteries get drawn
down quite quickly because phones are constantly trying to get a signal.
