We run ours on a dedicated virtual machine. It can be a little interesting getting it attached for the first time to an Exchange 2007 server - you need the mapi tools if I remember correctly. Once you have it set up it's amazing though - backs up everything on the device, and I do mean everything. Applications, contacts, calendar, email, SMS, call logs... And you can do remote restores and wipes. You’ll wonder how you lived without it.

I believe they still offer a version of BES where the first user is free – BES professional edition or something like that.
