2. Three Sisters Garden Workshop
Learn
about the traditional planting methods of the indigenous people of the
Great Lakes, Tuesday August 11th, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. Join Nichole
Shepherd for native stories and language, as well as a guided tour of
the three sister’s garden in bloom. The Garden Project Demonstration
Garden is across Marcus St. from the Garden Project Resource Center at

3. Canning and Food Preservation Class
Join
MSU Extension Educator Joyce McGarry for the most up-to-date info on
techniques and safety for canning and preserving your garden harvest,
Thursday August 20, 2009 at 6:00 p.m., at Ingham County Human Services
Building. This is a classroom-style workshop useful for people new to
canning as well as for experienced canning enthusiast look to stay
current with health and safety guidelines. To register call

4. SalsaFest 2009
This is a hands-on
chance to learn to make your own salsa, at Garden Project Resource
Center (Foster Park) on Thursday September 3, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. It is
strongly encouraged bringing ingredients from your garden. Topics
include kitchen procedure and the canning process. Bring a cutting
board and chopping knife. Please, no sandals. Sign up early, this one
