EVENT

"A New Soil Agenda: Predicting and Managing Soil Organic Matter Today and
Tomorrow" Interactive Workshop

When: July 17, 2009 from 8:00 am- 3:30 pm
Where: Terrace Room in the Academic Bldg., Kellogg Biological Station (3700
E. Gull Lake Dr., Hickory Corners, MI 49060).
Why: Feedback Needed! We are facing agricultural challenges and
opportunities regarding soil organic matter, including the increased use of
moldboard plowing in organic systems, emerging markets for stover, carbon
credits, and organic markets for cereal grains.

What is really needed to promote adoption of practices that will enhance
soil quality? We need your input on this issue. Workshop activities about
soil organic matter include:

   - Synthesis of key research findings
   - Report on available and upcoming extension materials and tools
   - Round-tables to receive input from YOU on what soil quality extension
   materials and research are needed.

How: Please RSVP by July 8 to Julie Doll 269-671-2266, [log in to unmask] No
charge for this event, lunch included.
