What's New in Michigan Organics? News

The biotechnology company Syngenta has petitioned the U.S. government to
"deregulate" a genetically modified (GM) corn variety that produces a
microbial enzyme to facilitate ethanol production. As part of the
decision-making process, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and
Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has prepared a draft environmental
assessment (EA) and plant pest risk assessment for review and comment. It is
also seeking addition public comment on Syngenta's petition. Reopening the
comment period will allow interested persons additional time to prepare and
submit comments on the petition.

Consideration will be given to comments received on or before July 6. Send
two copies of postal mail or commercial delivery comments to Docket No.
