There are reports out that Sentinel is down, meaning critical apps, such as
Stuinfo, which right at this moment is extremely critical for students
checking grades, are also down.
Yet when I go to computing.msu.edu, the report is there are no Service
Alerts.

You have to drill into servicestatus.msu.edu to find there is emergency
maintenance on a critical AIS SAN that's got to complete for Sentinel to
come back up.

The whole point of Service Alerts was, well, to alert people as to service
problems. If something as critical as Sentinel is down, then there needs to
be an alert visible on the computing,msu.edu home page.
