1. Bids are being accepted for Manistee Area Farm to School Project. Bids are now being accepted for Michigan-grown fruits and vegetables for the Manistee Area Farm to School Project. This bid request is for products and delivery for the 2009/2010 school year. Manistee Area Public Schools is also accepting bids for products for their summer food service program. For more information visit: www.michiganorganic.msu.edu homepage announcements. 2. Attention Hart, MI Area Growers Locavore Food Distributors LLC is a new company in Hart, MI by Eric Hahn. Their mission is to promote local agricultural interests in many ways. They do this by working directly with farmers, food processors and other food interests, aimed to market their food items to a customer base that includes grocery stores, restaurants, resorts, schools and other food service establishments in a safe and consistent manner. They maintain standards with growers and food producers through the entire distribution process. Product guide only includes what is available locally, with emphasis towards transparency. Their customers will always be assured that the products they buy come from local sources and where the products were produced. Eric Hahn (owner) is trying to meet with growers (of all sizes) in the Hart region to help supply produce to him new company.
