The Department of Radiology is seeking a junior systems
administrator to work within the Radiology Engineering Group. Applicant must be
personable and looking for a challenging position in the field of health care
IT. We provide the help and training necessary to bring you up to speed.

The Junior Systems Administrator covers a wide-range of
applications and duties in support of the day-to-day IT operations in
Radiology. These activities include:
* Processing and resolving faculty and
staff requests and issues pertaining to the systems and services in Radiology,
including phone support.
* Installation and maintenance of server
and desktop hardware and software.
* Programming (UNIX and windows shell
scripting)
* Manual labor, as needed.
The preferred candidate for this position should be able to
demonstrate, at the minimum, basic working knowledge in many of the following
areas:
* UNIX OS administration (Linux, Solaris
installation and administration)
* Windows Server administration
(installation and administration)
* Windows and UNIX Software packaging
concepts (Windows MSI, Linux RPM)
* System services (SSH, NFS, Apache, IIS,
Active Directory)
* General security concepts.
* Hardware installation and maintenance.
* Basic PC Support (MS Office).
* Networking (General TCP/IP knowledge,
network cabling, switches).
* Problem solving and troubleshooting.
* Troubleshooting over the phone.
* Undergraduate computer science /
telecommunications / engineering major.
12-20 hours a week in the fall and spring semesters
25-40 hours a week during the summer
