The Department of Radiology is seeking a junior systems administrator to work within the Radiology Engineering Group. Applicant must be personable and looking for a challenging position in the field of health care IT.  We provide the help and training necessary to bring you up to speed. This is an exceptional resume building opportunity!

The Junior Systems Administrator covers a wide-range of applications and duties in support of the day-to-day IT operations in Radiology. These activities include:

    * Processing and resolving faculty and staff requests and issues pertaining to the systems and services in Radiology, including phone support.
    * Installation and maintenance of server and desktop hardware and software.
    * Programming (UNIX and windows shell scripting)
    * Manual labor, as needed.

The preferred candidate for this position should be able to demonstrate, at the minimum, basic working knowledge in many of the following areas:

    * UNIX OS administration (Linux, Solaris installation and administration)
    * Windows Server administration (installation and administration)
    * Windows and UNIX Software packaging concepts (Windows MSI, Linux RPM)
    * System services (SSH, NFS, Apache, IIS, Active Directory)
    * General security concepts.
    * Hardware installation and maintenance.
    * Basic PC Support (MS Office).
    * Networking (General TCP/IP knowledge, network cabling, switches).
    * Problem solving and troubleshooting.
    * Troubleshooting over the phone.
    * Undergraduate computer science / telecommunications / engineering major.

12-20 hours a week in the fall and spring semesters
25-40 hours a week during the summer
