1.      Westwind’s Earth Day Celebration

Saturday April 18 Westwind Milling Company is having an Earth Day
Celebration. Festivities will begin at 10am with an all you can eat pancake
breakfast $7 for adults and $5 for children. At 1pm Howell Nature Center
will have a Birds of Prey and Small Animal Presentation.  At 2pm learn about
Local Food Networking and sign up for a few spots left in a couple of local
community supported agriculture farms (CSA’s). Talk to suppliers of local
foods, and get resources list of many trusted and experienced local and
organic food producers. Also at 2pm kids can make a bird or bat house $3.00
each, which can be used to attract beneficial wildlife to your backyard.  For

2.      Michigan Apple Association hosting Webinars

April 23 at 1pm, MSU plant pathologist George Sundin will discuss fire
blight.

Growers who have access to high-speed Internet can register to participate
right in their own homes. Cost is $30 per seminar, or $20 for members of the
Michigan Apple Association. Those without high-speed Internet can watch the
Webinars at other locations. The Webinars are being broadcasts from MSU.
Participants can participate by emailing their questions and observations.

3.      Blandford Nature Center Sugarbush Pancake Breakfast

Saturday, March 28th Blandford Nature Center Pancake Breakfast from 8am-noon
at the CA Frost Environmental Science Academy. Fresh maple syrup with hot
pancakes and sausage and coffee will be served. Admission is $8 for adults,
$7 for seniors, and $5 for children (price includes admission into the
Sugarbush Festival)

Following the breakfast is the Sugerbush Festival at Blandford Nature
Center. From 9am-4pm, Blandford’s Heritage building, Visitors Center and
Wildlife Education Center will be open. Self and guided tours down the
Sugerbush trail will be available all day. Admissions into only the
Sugarbush Festival is $5 for adults and $3 for children. For more
