Since no identification of the virus was made in Jeanne's email I don't
think you can patently declare safety. If the virus is W32.Downadup!autorun
or a variant, which is what her description sounds like, then ALL MS systems
have susceptibility according to Symantec.

Or, they aren't safe and they just didn't bother testing Win98 for the
vulnerability.  Though I would guess you are right, being a different
code-base.
