Ladies and Gentlemen:

While I appreciate the updates and information (when I can extract it from the erroneous B.S.), I really do feel this is the wrong forum for these types of posts. There are forums for that. It affects a group much larger than just the IT world. I am on THIS group to keep up and pull from other IT resources, not to get information and read squabbles about AP issues. I am on other forums and informational sites for that. (So I'm getting hit twice with this.)

I can understand the need to discuss how some of these issues affect us, as professionals, however, I don't see this issue as having been started for legitimate discussion. My feelings would be different had this been a post asking for our opinions, and how we felt about it and how it affected our ability to perform. But it was not.

If the administrators of this list feel it is appropriate content for this list, so be it. I will shut up and just keep on deleting them. However, I fail to see the direct relevance and necessity for posting this crap on this list. Again, I get this information elsewhere. And this is not the content I signed up for this list to receive.

Just my respectful opinion on this matter.

So, as I understand Leo's posting, some AP's previously benefited by having
NO trial period because of our CBA language and were, thus, able to
self-determine whether a new job "fit." So the CBA was changed to ensure
that ALL AP's (regardless of seniority or time of service) now undergo (up
to) a 6-month (or longer if the employer desires) "trial period." Now,
either the AP or the employer can terminate the (undetermined) trial period.

AP's are betting their jobs against what could be a short-lived attempt at
self-improvement.

Either way, APs are not guaranteed the right to reclaim their previous job
(details in -56 were not included in Leo's post) because the employer can
simply say there is "no intent" to fill the former position.

That is the crux of the original response regarding IT job openings and change .
