I think you're right about the appearance of headers for some people and not others. So while I think its aggravating, I keep in mind that the system is brand new and still has some things to be worked out. Spam is an awful, awful AWFUL problem to deal with. Given the ever increasing complexities of the problem, I can see a day when white lists will have to be used by anyone who values email.
