Last Sunday’s Corn Roast Fundraiser was moved to this Sunday, September 21st, due to last Sunday’s predicted rain.  Of course, Mother Nature fooled us Sunday!  Again, this Sunday we will be doing the Corn Roast Fundraiser for the Fort – Visger CDC Farmers Market.  And it is to be a beautiful day!  The fundraiser is sponsored by Chiarelli’s Market, Clemente’s Restaurant, Fort Street Brewery, Onsite Computer Repair and market farmers Norris Stephens, Sam Parise and Fleig Farms.  For $1.00 you’ll be able to enjoy fresh roasted corn.  We will also have sliced melon, hot dogs, Italian sausage, Polish sausage and pop / water for sale.  We have music to entertain you as you enjoy the fresh roasted corn and other wonderful things.  Proceeds from the roasted corn and sliced melons go to support the farmers market.

Brityn Creutz, of Wyandotte, and her fiancé Bryce Dunlop, of Windsor, Ontario, will play acoustic guitar at Sunday’s Fort – Visger CDC Farmers Market.  Brityn and Bryce play acoustic guitar with adult top 40, country and oldies favorites.  They typically play as street musicians in Windsor.

Sunday’s Corn Roast Fundraiser is at noon.  The location is the Southfield Road Municipal Road Parking Lot between Fort Street & I-75 in Lincoln Park, across from Lincoln Park City Hall at 1355 Southfield Road. The markets are sponsored by the Lincoln Park Downtown Development Authority along with the Fort – Visger Community Development Corporation (CDC).  The Fort – Visger CDC is the cities of Ecorse, Lincoln Park and River Rouge as well as the Southwest Detroit zip code 48217.  The Fort-Visger CDC Farmers Markets are every Sunday, 10 am – 3 pm.  The markets run through the end of October with a special Holiday Market on Sunday November 23rd.  Vendor fees are $10 per week.
