On our account, we have the choice of "Michigan State University Price"
which is discounted from the CDWG web price. Also, with larger orders
we have been able to request an additional discount. Therefore, I do
not have to call CDWG for every purchase to determine our price.

Quite often I can place an order between 4:30pm and 7:00pm and have the
items in-hand the next day by 10:00 with standard, 2-3 day shipping.

I use Newegg occasionally, and Provantage a lot. Provantage is
sometimes slightly more expensive than Newegg, but they ship more
quickly and their paperwork/order-tracking/return-system is easier for
me to deal with. Most things from Provantage arrive overnight, from a
nearby warehouse, even if I ordered late in the afternoon on the
previous day.

Having to call someone to get pricing on small quantities of small items
is just not practical unless there is a significant amount of money to
be saved. I do a lot of ordering at hours of the day or night when
CDW's sales reps are not going to be around, and I'm often trying to get
the order placed too quickly to tolerate the delays of talking to a
sales rep. With web orders I have the kind of paper trail I need.
Talking to sales reps is so last century.

I have used CDW for some software license purchases.
