The Tripp-Lite one has a keyboard layout that is excruciating to use... Maybe not as bad for Windows vs. Linux. We've got a 32 port Raritan KVM that uses the UTP cables for the connections. This is a 1U box that takes an external keyboard, mouse, monitor and have decided to not put its monitot in a rack. The consideration is that if it is in a rack, it won't be as visible from locations in our server room. The Raritan is a bit more money though. I'm a bit disappointed with the Raritan (I didn't select it) because it can't give you a real serial connection, so isn't a complete solution for managing switches or routers that use serial connection for some management actions. I guess that is the nature of a KVM though. -Tom David Benjamin wrote: > We're looking at rack mountable KVMs with slide-out keyboard drawer > and flip-up monitor (17"- 19") under $2000 price tag.
