Dear readers

If you are interested in learning a bit more about hoophouses and the opportunities it affords you should attend this if possible.

High Tunnel Open House

Production of high value crops under tunnels continues to interest many fruit and vegetable growers.  The Southwest Michigan Research and Extension Center has conducted research the past four years on producing cherries, raspberries, strawberries, tomatoes and other vegetables in high tunnels.  On July 31, 2008 at 7:00 pm there will be an open house tour of the tunnels at the Center.  Researchers will be conducting walking tours through the tunnels discussing this year’s research activities and be available to answer any questions growers have on tunnel construction and production.  The Southwest Michigan Research and Extension Center is located at 1791 Hillandale Road, east of Benton Harbor.  Go to www.maes.msu.edu/swmrec/ and click on SWMREC info for more detailed directions.
