I don't mean to throw salt into your wounds, but in case there was any
doubt and you want more reinforcement...

We're heavy SPSS users over here. I offered all of my folks upgrade
licenses for 08 and they all opted for 15 on their own. I don't believe
I got one request for 16. They've experienced this out of SPSS in the
past. A large group who all work together on the same project have
voluntarily agreed to work together in staying one version behind every
year. So about half of our "upgrades" of SPSS this year were from 14 to
15. Those that got 15 part way through 07 just renewed for 08 and
stayed on 15.

I've also been told by a couple faculty that the economists are
beginning to prefer Stata over SPSS, where SPSS had been more favorable
in the past.

Best wishes,

Brian Hoort

I had this bad feeling that someone was going to say something like
this. Well, at least we have the 15 reauth codes, so I think I'm going
to do what you suggest, and wait.

Why is it that SPSS gets a little more strange with each release?

Thanks all!
