While I cannot endorse Vista in any way, it DOES support group policy enhancements that will prevent USB keys from being used. There are also third-party applications that can do this, but from what I've heard from someone at JNL, the program caused machines to run so slowly and poorly, that they eventually abandoned it. Of course, there's always the SuperGlue method wherein you just give a quick shot to the front ports and problem solved ;-) Jon Galbreath MCSA/MCSE/Security+ Network/Systems Administrator International Studies and Programs Ph: 517-355-2350 [log in to unmask] -----Original Message----- From: MSU Network Administrators Group [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Oscar Castaneda Sent: Friday, March 14, 2008 11:05 AM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: [MSUNAG] Personal devices and MSU PCs To me, the most interesting question would be: what is out there to control that type of behavior? Are software tools? hardware? locks? I have no idea. oscar David McFarlane wrote: > Esther, > >> Do you allow your users to attach their personal devices to the MSU >> PCs that they use (and you support)? >> If yes, do you have any protection in place?
