I just called as I have the same issue. Unfortunately they are currently sold out of that model. +-------------------------------------------+ | Michael Surato | | College of Arts and Letters | | Michigan State University | | 320 Linton Hall | | East Lansing, MI 48824 | | Voice: (517) 353-0778 Fax: (517) 355-0159 | +-------------------------------------------+ ________________________________ From: MSU Network Administrators Group [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Bosman, Don Sent: Wednesday, January 16, 2008 2:22 PM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: [MSUNAG] Dell bad capacitor issue There are a fair number of GX270s at MSU Surplus. Once I found out about the capacitor issue, I found another 280 that died a few months ago (one day after the 3 year warranty expired), they both have replacement motherboards in them now. Unfortunately Dell isn't replacing power supplies that are damaged due to the motherboard. My 270 also ruined the power supply. I ordered a replacement (about $40 with shipping), but it might not ship for another week. Does anyone have a spare Optiplex 270 power supply? (the one from the 280 doesn't work in a 270) thanks -John
