MSU Administrative Data Users Group Monday, November 5, 1:00-3:00p.m., 1400 BPS (Biomedical and Physical Sciences Building)

Topic:  Enterprise Information Stewardship:  How Will It Affect the Future of MSU Data Management?

Presenters:

Diana D’Angelo, Associate Director, Client Advocacy Office

Dave Hartman, Manager, System’s Development, Controller’s Office

Do you face challenges when you work with university data, feeling that there must be a way for it to evolve, becoming better designed, more clearly defined, and better integrated?  If so, then you will want to attend the upcoming ADUG meeting to hear about MSU’s Enterprise Information Stewardship (EIS) program.    The EIS program will establish a framework for managing the university’s key information and data as resources, with increased care and intention.   The program is just beginning, so your ideas, feedback and concerns will help frame the program in ways that will help data creators and consumers across the university, as well as traditional central stewards of shared university data and both central and local unit IT support staff.

Objectives of the session are to:

·        Explain:

o       What is Enterprise Information Stewardship?

o       Why is Enterprise Information Stewardship needed?

o       How will Enterprise Information Stewardship work?

o       Scope of data

o       Processes

o       Organization

·       Hear your ideas & feedback
