TELL USDA TO GIVE THE PUBLIC MORE THAN 7 DAYS TO
COMMENT ON NON-ORGANIC MATERIALS ALLOWED IN ORGANIC PROCESSED PRODUCTS
 
COMMENT PERIOD ENDS TUESDAY, MAY 22, 2007 AT 5:00 PM EASTERN

 
The USDA has proposed a list of 38 non-organic agricultural products to be allowed in or on processed products labeled as organic when the product is not commercially available in organic form.  The comment period for this Proposal was 7 Days and ends Tomorrow!
 

 
Non- organic ingredients allowed in organic products must be carefully reviewed due to concern about the use of chemicals that are not  allowed in organic production, including  unacceptable residues of pesticides, fertilizers, and animal drugs.  Some of the proposed materials include processes or substances that are not compatible with organic:
