PLEASE SHARE WITH FACULTY AND INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT STAFF IN YOUR UNITS.
THE SAME MESSAGE IS BEING SENT BY E-MAIL TO FACULTY WHO ARE USING THE ANGEL
SYSTEM.

On Thursday, May 10, 2007, the ANGEL course management system at Michigan
State University will be upgraded to version 7.2.  In this upgrade you will
see a DRAMATICALLY DIFFERENT USER INTERFACE.  Users will want to familiarize
themselves with the new features and new locations of current features.
ANGEL 7.2 offers enhanced testing features, better interactivity and
communication tools, and more.

An overview of "What’s New in ANGEL 7.2" with screen shots of the user
interface can be found on the ANGEL help page:   http://help.angel.msu.edu
If you are using customized style sheets in your course, please note the
special section on ANGEL style sheets.

Our goal is to make this transition as smooth as possible.  The ANGEL team
is planning several events to help familiarize the MSU community with this
new version of ANGEL:

•       A brown bag lunch to highlight the major differences between version 6.3
and 7.2 as well as demonstrate some of the new functionality on
Friday, March 30, Noon-1pm in 105 Natural Sciences

•       Additional demonstration sessions on ANGEL 7.2 are planned for:
-- Tues. April 3, 4-5pm in Main Lib. North Conference Rm, 4th floor
-- Wed. April 11, 4-5pm in 103 Erickson Hall (Erickson Kiva)
 -- Thurs. April 19, 4-5pm in 1279 Anthony Hall

•       Faculty Seminars in Instructional Technology will feature hands-on
training sessions for faculty on ANGEL 7.2 on May 8 and 9.   More
information will be available soon at:
http://train.msu.edu/faculty/seminars/index.asp

•       LCTTP will offer hands-on training for Teaching and Graduate Assistants
on May 10, 2007.   Additional offerings for faculty, teaching assistants,
and staff will be scheduled throughout the summer. The schedule and
enrollment information will be available soon at http://train.msu.edu

•       Special hands-on computer lab sessions for faculty teaching Summer
Semester 2007 will be announced on the ANGEL help page at:
http://help.angel.msu.edu

•       Faculty and staff teaching Summer Semester 2007 will be given access to
ANGEL 7.2 development space in late April (this is the earliest we can make
this possible given the product release schedule).  This will be announced
on the ANGEL help page as well as in a special email message.

We hope that these extra efforts in communication and training will help
guide each user through the challenge of adapting to the new improved
version of ANGEL.

Current ANGEL courses and groups will be automatically transferred to the
new ANGEL 7.2 on May 10, 2007.
