Hello All,

If you haven't heard yet, thanks to The Garden 
Resource Program Collaborative and The Gleaners 
Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan, 
John Jeavons is coming to Michigan to present 
several Biointensive Gardening and Farming Workshops.

John will be presenting the Grow Biointensive 
Workshop on March 30 and 31 and the Economic 
Mini-Farming Workshop on April 1 at the 
Earthworks Garden in Detroit, MI.  Registration is required.

He will also be visiting the MSU Student Organic 
Farm on Wednesday afternoon March 28th and 
presenting a free two hour Grow Biointensive 
Minifarming workshop at MSU from 7 to 9 pm in 
A101 Plant and Soil Sciences Building, Michigan 
State University. The evening workshop is 
sponsored and hosted by the MSU Ecological Food 
and Farm Stewardship (EFFS) student organization 
and the MSU Student Organic Farm.

No preregistration is necessary for the MSU 
evening workshop.  See the information following for the Detroit Workshops.

John Jeavons, known across the world for his GROW 
BIOINTENSIVE® workshops and book How to Grow More 
Vegetables: than you ever thought possible on 
less land than you can image, will be visiting 
Detroit and teaching two workshops on 
Biointensive growing methods. We are honored to 
have him visit Detroit and encourage you to take 
advantage of this amazing opportunity to learn 
from Jeavons’ simple techniques, which are easy 
to implement in small spaces and result in a 
highly productive, nutritious and sustainable 
gardens. Biointensive agriculture is focused on 
building healthy soil. It emphasizes garden 
planning that uses deep soil preparation 
techniques, crop rotation, and plant diversity to 
maximize yields. It also helps gardeners 
understand human nutritional requirements and how 
to effectively grow food to meet these needs.
