We use "The CSC Group of Michigan" for tape storage. The facility is located on the corner of Jolly/Dunkle Rd. Annual fee is approximately $1,000.00 depending on the amount of tapes you want to store. The tapes are stored in a fireproof/waterproof, etc. environment. This company provides 24 hour access; we transport the tapes ourselves and store them. If interested, contact Tony Ferrigan (393-8610). I have been very happy with the service they provide, and it's location is convenient for the university. Is there a service that ACNS or AIS provides for those of us who want to keep a redundant data source outside our building? Are system administrators taking home tapes with them for off site storage (and is that even allowed)? Does MSU have an agreement or preferred vendor for off site backup?
