Steve and Lori I got word of this last week. We've been doing PC upgrades for some faculty and SPSS works on their old system but we can't get it licensed on the new PC. Sean Leahy can probably give more information on this problem. He wrote me back yesterday with a new code to use for a few machines. It was late in the day when I received it and haven't had a chance to try that out yet. -----Original Message----- From: MSU Network Administrators Group [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Lori Langone Sent: Wednesday, October 04, 2006 1:10 AM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: [MSUNAG] SPSS purgatory Yes, I just reformatted my laptop and cannot get the authorization code to work either. Our tech assistant today was told by the MSU licensing people that one of the computer labs on campus was somehow pulling down new codes every day and it used up all of the codes assigned to MSU. I don't understand that, but he was told that MSU is working on the problem and that it will hopefully be solved by the end of the week. This is not good news for those of us who need to use SPSS in the meantime. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who thinks SPSS licensing is a MONSTER to deal with! After I type in the code, I get Error Code: 106 You are not allowed to generate any more new licenses. Express2LS Lock code: 4-21036 Authorization Code: <the msu code i have> Has anyone else seen this? It certainly sounds to me like the SPSS licensing monster is having problems at the moment. Can anyone shed light on this? Thanks, STeve Andre' Political Science
