If it is just a USB hard drive. Often they are just IDE drives that you can pull out and install into a system. Of course doing that may void the products warranty. I have had a professor here who had a USB memory key that wasn't working, and they wound up breaking one of the four metal connectors off of the USB plug. I was able to take it apart put the metal back in it's place and hold it long enough to get the data off. -----Original Message----- From: MSU Network Administrators Group [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Adell Flourry, Jr. Sent: Monday, October 31, 2005 11:57 AM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: [MSUNAG] Recover data from external USB Drive Has anyone had success in recovering data from a USB external storage backup drive? The utilities I have tried using (Norton or the built in disk first aid) can not see the external drive at all. I am looking for tips or suggestions.
