Hi Rich, The Descriptions of Courses is still available on the web: http://www.reg.msu.edu/Courses/Search.asp <http://www.reg.msu.edu/Courses/Search.asp> However, with the recent system rewrite, the COURSES system now has versioning - meaning that if there is a change to a course, a different, correct description will display for the given term. For example, if ACC 201 changed starting SS06, the description for FS05 would be different. The old system might not display the correct description for a given term. The new version does. The page you are grabbing descriptions from is looking for a term sequence id to be able to pull the correction version of a course. Example: http://www.reg.msu.edu/Courses/Request.asp?SubjectCode=ACC&CourseNumber= 201&Term=1054 <http://www.reg.msu.edu/Courses/Request.asp?SubjectCode=ACC&CourseNumber =201&Term=1054> We are also planning (hopefully very shortly) to send descriptions of courses to SISINFO - anyone could then pull accurate descriptions from the SISINFO SQL database instead of having to scrape a web page... If you have further questions, feel free to contact me. Kris ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Kristin L. We have (for the past 4 years) used some programming to grab the course descriptions from www.reg.msu.edu/courses and display them on our site with supplemental information. However, with the recent updates to www.reg.msu.edu/courses, our code is no longer working. I was wondering if any of you could pass this on to the people responsible for programming that section so that I may converse with them and hopefully solve this issue. Thank you in advance.
