Adell, Maybe the problem is with the update mechanism. I'd try upgrading from Windows Update to Microsoft Update if you haven't already -- After selecting "Windows Update" from the IE Tools menu select "Upgrade to Microsoft Update..". I think you can also download the tool and run it manually. The malicious software removal tool is monthly and cumulative.
