Friday morning, mail will be down from 6:00AM - 7:00AM as we perform
some software upgrades.

Many of the changes should not be perceptable to end-users. There are
a few things worth pointing out, however.

Two enhancements to the webmail application:

 * The addition of a "Block SPAM" option, which will allow users to
have their SPAM automatically deleted for them (in effect, never
delivered at all). This does not automatically delete mail out of
the SPAM folder, but rather never delivers it at all. This of
course has the implication that false positives also go into the bit
   bucket.

* The addtion of a "Abandon Draft" option on the composition page.
This allows users to simply cancel out of a draft by clicking a
  button.

Most notable fixes:

* Duplicate truncated messages received when forwarding via a
filter - Fixed; This bug was brought to my attention by the
folks at AIS, as many of their people forward mail.msu.edu via a
mailfilter to take advantage of mail.msu.edu's SPAM filtering.
Thanks to all who contacted me and provided information RE this
  bug.

* Links "expired" or "no longer valid" when clicked in webmail -
Fixed; At times, a webmail user would attempt to click a link in
webmail, and that link would not work (the user would have to
copy/paste the link into the URL bar). This issue is resolved.
Thanks again to those who pointed this out, and provided bug
  reports.

Make certain that you contact me directly if your users are
experiencing problems on Friday, specifically with the new features.
