With Laptops and Labs.... we are pretty much in the 250-320 computer
range.... 99% would be Dells.... that would be my best guess...

Tony,

>maintain?

The dept. (Psychology) has two techs, plus me. Only one of those techs has
the main job of keeping workstations working, the other keeps busy
maintaining the dept. database and web site, and I'm supposed to keep busy
doing research technology projects but I'm near at hand so get pressed into
service for everything else. Of course, individuals in the dept., and
dept. affiliated Programs, hire additional support staff for themselves, so
we have more techs floating in & out, but no real organization of this.

As to numbers of systems, I don't keep count. My own bailiwick concerns
about 20 faculty, each with 2-10 Dells. Multiply that by some factor to
get the numbers for the whole dept. (I know Chip Shank is listening in on
this discussion, perhaps he'll weigh in).
