I wrestled with this the other day, but on an IMAP link with Outlook 2003. The port required for sending is now 465 instead of the normal 25. I suspect they recently changed this port number and broke the user's connection, but I have no hard evidence for this. Making this change fixed it. POP clients are now required to use port 465 (and SSL) for outgoing mail also, evidently. Thomas P. When they try to send mail out, the messages are getting stuck in the outbox folder. The settings in outlook are correct for sending/receiving mail. The problem seems to have randomly and I have no idea what is causing it. I have disabled all email virus scans. I have found a work around, but remove the messages from the outbox folder. Then doing a send and receive. Exit Outlook. Start Outlook. Then re-send the messages. It seems to fix the problem for a few days but comes right back. All the updates of Office 2003 have been installed. Has anyone else experienced this problem and know how to resolve it? Andrew McCormack [log in to unmask]
