Hi, Have these machines ever successfully connected to the domain? If they have, has anything changed with regard to the setup? What DNS servers are you using with these machines, are they the same as the machines that can connect? Can you query these DNS servers with nslookup? How did you set up these machines with the domain (wizard, script, manually, etc.)? Can you ping a domain controller from these machines? Have you tried to rename the computer (this will reset the password for the computer account)? The answers to these questions will hopefully point you in the right direction (DNS error, connection error, domain error). +-------------------------------------------+ | Michael Surato | | Resource Center for Persons | | with Disabilities | | Michigan State University | | 120 Bessey Hall | | East Lansing, MI 48824 | | Voice: (517) 353-9643 Fax: (517) 432-3191 | +-------------------------------------------+ ________________________________ From: MSU Network Administrators Group [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Samone E. I found a Microsoft Knowledge Base article that was close to this issue but it's for NT 4.0 machines. I called Microsoft since the article says to call for the hotfix - hoping they would have a version for Win Pro 2000, but they sent me back to look for a specific article for Win 200 Pro - which either doesn't exist or I couldn't find. The article I found was: Logon Attempt Does Not Work on Computers with Windows NT Newly Installed: Q223997 OR Could this be a replication issue? Has anyone else had this problem - am I going in the right direction? Samone E. Jones Information Technologist Family Consumer Sciences Phone: 517.432.4552 Email: [log in to unmask]
