Outlook is set to use port 445 (SSL) for sending. There is no spam
protection beside the outlook junk mail filter that comes with the product.

I have several computers running Outlook 2003 and using POP3 for
mail.msu.edu. When they try to send mail out, the messages are getting
stuck in the outbox folder. The settings in outlook are correct for
sending/receiving mail. The problem seems to have randomly and I have no
idea what is causing it. I have disabled all email virus scans.

I have found a work around, but remove the messages from the outbox folder.
Then doing a send and receive. Exit Outlook. Start Outlook. Then re-send
the messages. It seems to fix the problem for a few days but comes right
back. All the updates of Office 2003 have been installed.

Has anyone else experienced this problem and know how to resolve it?
