A possible option (where a VPN is not needed to access files stored on
an on campus server from outside of our campus network) for cable modem
users is to use ACD as your cable modem provider since MSU has an
agreement with them. For those interested go to:

of Campus

The clients that we are currently offering are very old. I am working
to get copies of the newer cisco client. Once the newer client has
arrived I will post a message back here.

Most of the bugs that are commonly mentioned should be taken care of
with the newer releases.

I appologize for the delay in receiving the newer versions.

MSU operates a central VPN server that will do this for you. It's
documented at: http://network.msu.edu/public/vpn/

I'm glad you brought this up, because we have run into some problems
with MSU's VPN access, especially with Windows 2000 clients (XP works
pretty well). Is anyone else using MSU's VPN, especially with Windows
2000, and would be interested in discussing this on the list? Thanks.
