It probably would have been far better for MSU (and other schools) if SP2 had come out a month earlier or a month later. /rich Push version of SP2 pushes back--nine days back In an acknowledgement that businesses will not only be slower to deploy SP2, but are also scrambling to retard its automatic deployment via Windows Update, Microsoft is pushing back SP2's automatic delivery date from August 16 until at least August 25-- if not later. The delay will give businesses more time to either roll out an SP2 blocking tool from Microsoft that allows Windows Update to keep running while disabling SP2's automatic installation or come up with their own form of remediation until they've developed a comfort level with SP2.
