I have an acer laptop with the centrino. The problem I faced initially was that whenever I could disconnect from ac, windows xp would throttle down the wireless. I had to play around with the power save seetings to prevent it from doing so, since then performance has been great. I've heard that the Intel Centrino stuff is pretty poor, I wonder if anyone has any experience or thoughts regarding either one. We are looking at Latitude X300s.
