I think that Outlook 2000 works as a great email client if you use it in Exchange mode. Using it for Pop3 or IMAP isn't as good, and those features of calendaring, public folders, are not utilized to their fullest in those modes. Outlook 2003 takes some getting used to. A good article I found that explains what additional features and how to get it to operate like Outlook 2000 are found here: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/ol2003/interface.htm The built in Junk Email features of Outlook 2003 will probably make your users happy. I've not played around too much with the other parts of Office 2003. -----Original Message----- From: MSU Network Administrators Group [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Peter J Murray Sent: Wednesday, June 23, 2004 11:23 AM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: [MSUNAG] office 2000 -> 2003? worthwhile? At James Madison, we are currently running Office 2000 and while it's ok for the application side, Outlook 2000 is not a very good email client (slow, interface horrible). Is it worthwhile to go to 2003 Suite? Any thoughts? Our client computers all run Windows XP Pro on a W2K server active directory domain. Peter Murray James Madison IT
