Looks like finger still works to cso.msu.edu for faculty/staff -- at least the Windows finger client does; I'm not sure about Eudora.

Subject: Re: [MSUNAG] Eudora Directory Services

How we (ACNS and AIS) provide people directory services is currently
under discussion. Mail.msu.edu relies upon a directory service at
directory.mail.msu.edu. We haven't determined what the ultimate
MSU people directory service should look like, but in the interim,
you should be able to point an LDAP client -- including Eudora,
configured for LDAP -- to directory.mail.msu.edu and do people
lookups. That directory has all MSU folks except those who have
suppressed display of directory information.

AIS maintains the Faculty-Staff-Retiree Address system, or FSRA.
It's at:

https://ntweb1.ais.msu.edu/fsra/Search.Asp

FSRA is searchable over the Web but does not speak LDAP or Finger.

Faculty and staff can log into FSRA and update certain information
(e.g. home contact info). Designated departmental staff can update
other items (e.g. professional name).

If you do a People search off the MSU home page, it currently
relies on directory.mail.msu.edu for the general search, and FSRA
for faculty/staff/retiree searches.
