I'm not clear as to why having 70,000 messages precludes the use of
IMAP.  My rough estimate of my own mail is probably 40,000 messages, all
stored on a Courier IMAP server in various folders.  I don't have any
trouble accessing it with Mozilla or Evolution or IMP webmail.
