Ah - that's right - I remember discussion of that service before I left :)

I'd still do the port scan - that will definitively tell you what you can talk to on the Exchange server, and I'm guessing 135 isn't getting through for one reason or another...

Rob,

MSU DSL users have *MSU* IP addresses, which is why we've been able to use Outlook in corporate mode.  If MSU has changed something, I'd sure like to hear about it.

Regards,

Margaret

HI Margaret - been a while :)  This is very likely a blocking issue at the ISP - I'm pretty sure 135 is required for "normal" Outlook connectivity:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;270836

You can do a simple scan of the Exchange Server's IP address with something like SuperScan:

http://www.foundstone.com/resources/scanning.htm

From home on your MSU DSL connection - and see what shows up...

   good luck :)

Subject: Outlook in Corporate Mode Not Working

I have an MSU DSL connection, hence a 35.11.x.x IP address.  Sometime within the last few days, Outlook in corporate mode has stopped working for me.  I get prompted for a password, and then after a l-o-n-g pause, I'm told my Exchange Server is unavailable.  I'm then prompted to work offline, retry or cancel.  I've checked with Health Team IS (who manage the Exchange Server) and am told that they have changed nothing recently, and that the server is working fine.  What's the status of campus port blocking?  Any idea why I can no longer use Outlook in corporate mode?  I have users complaining about this too.

Thx!

Margaret
