We have a vpn setup. But even with that now, we cannot get outlook to work.

Kim, I'm amazed that your users were able to get in with Comcast. I haven't been able to get into our Exchange 5.5 server from at home since the blocking of protocols at the campus border. I had to switch outlook to IMAP mode and subscribe to my other folders in order to use it at home with Comcast. Outlook uses port 135 for the login in MAPI (corporate) mode. I wonder if there is any type of filtering that could be done to allow MAPI traffic only on port 135? Or will we be lucky enough and Microsoft won't need to use port 135 with outlook/exchange 2003?

Tim

We have the same type of problem you are experiencing. It was working sometime this weekend but as of yesterday it stopped. All our users have comcast.

Subject: Outlook in Corporate Mode Not Working

I have an MSU DSL connection, hence a 35.11.x.x IP address. Sometime within the last few days, Outlook in corporate mode has stopped working for me. I get prompted for a password, and then after a l-o-n-g pause, I'm told my Exchange Server is unavailable. I'm then prompted to work offline, retry or cancel. I've checked with Health Team IS (who manage the Exchange Server) and am told that they have changed nothing recently, and that the server is working fine. What's the status of campus port blocking? Any idea why I can no longer use Outlook in corporate mode? I have users complaining about this too.

Thx!

Margaret
